【摘要】:Themethodofpreparationoftestspecimensofmasticthermalinsulationcoatingscanhaveanimpactuponvaluesobtainedduringtesting.Testinglaboratoriesshouldfollowthispracticetohelpensurethereproducibilityoftestmethodsforwhichacuredsheetorfilmofamasticthermalinsulationcoatingisrequired.1.1Thispracticecoversthepreparationofspecimensofmasticsandcoatingsintheformofcuredsheetsorfilmsthatmaybeusedinotherproceduresforevaluationofphysicalproperties.1.2Threeproceduresaredescribedforcastingandcuring(Note1)masticsandcoatingsofalltypesforthermalinsulation.Note18212;Thetermx201C;curex201D;isusedprimarilytodenotetheconditionthatdevelopsastheresultoflossofvolatilematterbutalsotodenotepossiblesubsequentchangesinchemicalorphysicalpropertiesduetocrosslinking.1.2.1ProcedureAisintendedtoprovideaspecimenofcontrolledthicknessappliedtoinsulation,andequivalentinotherrespectstothatobtainableunderfieldapplicationconditions.Thethermalinsulationintendedforfieldusemaybespecifiedasthebacking.1.2.2ProcedureBisintendedtoprovideafree-filmspecimenofcontrolledthicknesshavingsmoothsurfacesonbothsides.Thistypeisrequiredforsometypesofphysicaltesting.1.2.3ProcedureCisintendedtoprovideafree-filmspecimenofcontrolledthicknesshavingonesmoothsurface(asfieldapplied).1.3Theproceduresofthispracticearenotintendedfortheevaluationofapplicationproperties.ThesearecoveredinTestMethodsC461andGuideC647.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
